Viva la Cottage ViNtaGe Market - Just keeps getting better!*!*!

This past weekend, Viva la Cottage, located on the Door County Peninsula, in Sister Bay, Wisconsin, hosted it's 5th annual "Outdoor ViNtaGe Market"!*!*!  Traditionally held - the weekend AFTER the 4th of July Holiday...  Each year this ViNtaGe Market just keeps getting better and better - Specialty Vendors... Unique Finds... Great Displays...  & PeRfeCt Weather, - made this year's Market ~ Over-The-Top F*A*B*U*L*O*U*S!!! 

 Meet Angie McMahon, owner of Viva la Cottage...  Angie has been hosting The ViNtaGe Market for five years now...   FLEA MARKET STYLE MAGAZINE, praised the show "as one of the top 24 small Flea Markets in the U.S."  The article drew quite the crowd!!!   (click on pics to enlarge...)

ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! **Door County, Wisconsin Get-Away**

Last Week...  ~ In between Selling at the Northwind Garden Show ~AND~ my RoadSide Sale, Frog Husband whisked ChiPPy-SHaBBy off to our FaVoRiTe Getaway Spot - DOOR COUNTY, WISCONSIN!*!*!  

 Door County is about 2-1/2 hours North of Cedarburg, ...  It's located on a picturesque peninsula ~ known for it's cherry orchards & water activities...  We started off with some nice strong coffee in our "vacation mugs"...  The sailboat mug was a purchase from "Clay Bay Pottery" - in Ellison Bay - on the peninsula...

 It's a beautiful drive for us up to The Door...  I love when the road  skirts Lake Michigan...  One of our FaVoRiTe Stops is DODGE ANTIQUES in Downtown, Algoma...  Tom the owner is quite the character!!!  GREAT STOP!!!  

 Fred & Co. is one of my FaVoRite ShoPPing Places...  Terry Goettelman, the owner is just darling!*!*!   We always stop there after having Breakfast at the White Gull Inn (best cherry pancakes on the peninsula!!!)

 Sometimes Terry brings her Himalayan Cat - "Everest" to the shop!!!  This was a "Rare Moment" when she let Everest downstairs in the store...  Sweetest Cat Ever!*!*!

 We had a gift certificate to the Blacksmith Inn...

 Everything is done 1st class at the Blacksmith Inn...  The gardens/grounds/rooms are soooo well taken care of... ~ Just beautiful...

BesT Weather ~ enjoying breakfast out on the deck overlooking a view of the water...  This side of the Peninsula is much quieter...  

 There's never a time when we don't make at least "2" stops at Viva la Cottage when we're up in Door County!!!  Angie's store is like a "little Anthropologie" ...

 Viva's Gardens are just GoRgeOuS!!!  These "Royal Wedding Poppies" were in bloom when we were there...

**Part Two** HoLiDay Weekend Road Trip...

The Burkhardt's decided to once again - REALLY PACK-IN as much as we could over our 2-1/2 day get away... ~ We heard there were "2" ANTIQUE SHOWS in Northern Wisconsin - MINOCWA & EAGLE RIVER... The drive to them, from Minnesota, was do able...  We wandered along many a tree-lined road, coming upon just a few antique shops...  The "2" upscale indoor shows turned out to be a "BROWN-OUT" with lots of Northwoods Cabin items...  -  We didn't buy a thing!!!  HOWEVER - can you believe this ~ "We came across a FLEA MARKET"!!! 

This caught my eye from the road in front of an antique store...  YES - that best shabby coffee table got tossed in the car for sure!!!

We enjoyed stopping every so often at little parks to read Historical Markers...

The Up-North woodsy fragrance was wonderful!!!

There it was...  A very welcoming sight after hours of tree-lined roads...

OMG!!! ~ A Flea Market I've never been to...  As it turned-out, it was a total "junker" flea market... Tube socks... spices... many a dollar table...  HOWEVER, I did come away with a few shabbies - of course!*!*!

Stunning display!!!

I just LoVed this "ViNtaGe Paris Apartment" Chair!*!*!   It's even more fabulous with lots of chippiness in the wood/gesso frame!!!  I could just see this used as a prop with a bling-bling ChAnDeLieR hanging above!!!! - YES!*!*!  I also loved this little table...  Although it has no drawers, I loved it's form...  What will I do with it???? ~ I'm "just thinking" at this point, but perhaps I'll have Jeff saw it in half, and I'll apply it to a board of sort - FOR A SHaBBy SaLe Sign????

I mixed-in a bit of "summer seaside" with the red-white-blue...

The tin-picnic basket on the top is a rare find!!!  I just love the retro "Orchard Beverage" soda pop bottle...

The vintage crank of sort with stars was a New York find many many years ago...  I packed it full with the darling vintage flags that are made of some type of stiff gauze material... The vintage post card is just Fab!!!  The chippy wooden "Lobster Float" is to die-4!*!*!

The Red-White-Blue Stars hung on the Vintage Lobster Trap are actually vintage Christmas ornaments...  The fish net is old too...

OMG!!! ~ extremely RARE FIND ~ ViNtaGe 1950's Lobster Tablecloth!*!*!   I'll NEVER part with this AwEsoMe Find!!!
