 The weather could not have been any more perfect for SHaBBy Selling OUTDOORS - LAST SATURDAY, at the Grayslake Flea in Illinois...  There were a record number of dealers set up outside...  

  Thank YOU sooooo much SHaBBy ShoPPers for your continued support!!!  Sooooo much extra physical effort went into this ONE DAY OF SELLING!!! I left Wisconsin at 3:30 a.m. ~ Set up the Tent, Secured the heavy tent weights, set up the tables, anchored my shutter & screen props, hung bungie cords, - THEN started displaying my

 ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! F*I*N*D*S...

FaB Turn Out @ Grayslake Flea - this past weekend...

Dreary Weather ~ No Sun & Intermittent Rain...

 - THIS PAST WEEKEND, did not stop shoppers from attending The GRAYSLAKE ANTIQUE/FLEA MARKET held at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Illinois... 

Here's what developed in my 

ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! Booth Space...

Although the foot traffic was there,

I SOLD mostly "Smalls"...

Larger Pieces & Furniture were just not moving in my booth...

Old Bottles...

I came across yet another

 PeRfeCtLy ChiPPy St. Theresa Religious Statue...  This smaller-size version with Metal Marker Plate "Flower of Jesus"- Sold Right Away - as did the Time~Worn "Holy Bible Book Cover"... 

A Hint of ViNTaGe Garden...

SOLD-OUT 

Pussy Willow Bunches...

 "Yellow Daffodils Opened"

and Shamrock plant perked-up

Mid-Day Saturday...

But No One took it home...

**August ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! ViNtaGe Seaside Lobster Vignette**

Each month I arrange a special vignette in our entry to compliment the season....  August to me says ~ Seaside, Sand, Lanterns, & Lobsters!!!  Here's what developed this year...    

SuMMeR "Seaside" Vignette...

I bought the lantern some years back...   It was well "covered with mud/dirt"...  After a good scrubbing, it revealed one of "The BeSt" ChiPPy Paint Loss Patinas!!!  - What a FaB FiNd...

These 100 Year-Old-PlusVintage Bottles have taken on a Translucent "Rainbow-Like" PaTiNa...

The one on the left is an 1880's Medicine Bottle...  The other an 1870's Whiskey Flask...

While most collectors favor a more "Mint Condition Bottle" - I just LoVe the PaTiNa that has naturally occurred on these...  Years of exposure to nature's minerals & water deposits produce such a PaTiNa - Just PeRfeCt for a "Seaside" theme...

 While on Washington Island, just off the Door County, Wisconsin Peninsula, we recently picked up this ViNtaGe Ships Running Light...    ~  Being fueled by oil, I would date this from around the late 1800's...  It's top brass tag identifies  a manufacturer in Chicago...

  I just L*O*V*E this old bottle!*!*!  It couldn't be anymore perfectly chippy!!!  ~And~ It reminds me of my Sweet Aunt Loretta who passed away some years ago - "Pansies & Spring" were her FaVoRite...

Yet another Vintage Bottle - FaB Natural Time-Worn Patina on the  Label - Yes!!!

New Years Eve Countdown ~ with a hint of "SHaBBy" BliNg!*!*!

CHANGE in many things, especially nature, seems to COME/GO with full intensity...  WINTER ~ creates a strong "white artists canvass"  preparing us for the the beginning of a New Year...   SPRING begins with a burst of "glorious shades of green" emerging... SUMMER, a "paintbox full of flowering plants"... and FALL'S "tree leaves turning magical colors"...  The countdown celebration has now begun ~  "Magical Bling" abounds for the celebration - as we prepare to say good-bye to 2010!*!*! 

A wonderful gift of "SHaBBy-Bling" reminds me that time is moving on...
