I took off early Friday Morning, in search of SHaBBies

along the Back Roads of Wisconsin...

~ BACK PORCH GATHERINGS in Ripon - Wisconsin ~

a **MUST VISIT** ViNtaGe SHaBBy-SHoP!!!  

 

 A Hint of S*P*R*I*N*G 

was definitely in the air with ViNtAge Garden Items...

The pleasure was all mine - meeting TAMMY, the owner of

BACK PORCH GATHERINGS in Berlin, WI...

Not only is Tammy a  "well-seasoned" vintage dealer,

she also has a keen eye for display...  

I sooo enjoyed chit-chatting with her & experiencing her shop!*!*! 

 

 There were some AmaZing Larger-Sized 

"Anchor Pieces" in the store - such has this cabinet...

Lot's of "naturally-chippy pieces, vintage garden

 & farmhouse style...

To keep up with what sells, like myself, Tammy incorporates 

Only A FEW "shabby-painted" pieces of furniture, which 

compliment the "time-worn" pieces quite well...

Tammy's Husband, Ernie was helping out

 in the shop that day as well...

 DO CALL AHEAD if you're driving any distance...

An Occasional Shop ~ open mostly on the weekends...

"2nd Location" in RIPON Wisconin

 OMG!*!*!  

About 20 Minutes down the road is Tammy's

SECOND LOCATION...

BACK PORCH GATHERINGS & WATER J's

in the town of RIPON, WI

The other half of the Store Name

& WALTER J - is Tammy's Business Partner...

(sorry I forgot her name!!!)

Tammy's Partner has a great eye for

 Finding INDUSTRIAL,

and Tammy pops on over to this location to

create the displays... 

Is this a *KILLER-CHIPPY-WHITE BACKDROP -Or- What!!!

Appears to be an old garage door!*!*!

Although this location does not have much 

W*H*I*T*E,

The whites that they do have are fabulous, - again

along with "just a few" more recenlty shabby-painted ones...

 Even though this was quite a trek for me from Cedarburg, Wisconsin,

I'll definintely make a point to RE-VISIT!!!

WELL WORTH THE DRIVE

IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE, with quite a few "OTHER"

Shabby Shops & Occasional Stores/Barn Sales in the area...

Working Our Way to IOWA...

Early Friday Morning Frog Husband and I found ourselves - *BACK-ON-THE-ROAD* working our way toward Iowa...  We took our time.... Stopped... Shopped... & Ate in many a small town, taking-in the sights ~ enjoying S*U*M*M*E*R...

 FIRST STOP (after Starbucks) 

The Small Town of ROCKTON, ILLINOIS

Unfortunately we were way toooo early for any Antique Shops to

 be open, but enjoyed the Window Eye-Candy!!!

  I'm almost certain I would have snagged a couple shabbies in this town...

 Many of these small towns

 have quaint old buildings...

I LoVe the "blink-of-the-eye" tour, which usually

 extends only a couple of blocks...

 Surprise... Surprise... Surprise...

I discovered the "workshop" of

Dealer Friends, Erica & Lenni of 

**Apron Strings Mom & Me**

This Mother & Daughter Team Sell FaB SHaBBies & Have

Inviting Displays in their Booth AT The ELKHORN FLEA, 

located in one of the animal buildings...

 Rockton, IL

 Some towns later,  I spotted this open

 gated area next to an Antique Shop...

  OMG!*!*!

JuSt AwEsoMe SHaBBies amongst a Pile of Junk!!!

I vamped-over those PeRfeCtLy ChiPPy Fluted Metal Shutters!!!

Along with the Small ViNtaGe White Iron Bench...

Upon inquiring inside the Antique Shop

***  N-F-S  ***

 We FINALLY arrived in Galena, IL

It's been quite a few years since we've been there...

  The Architecture is just Amazing!!!  I could have snapped

 a zillion pics of interesting doorways... trim... ~ but chose to enjoy

 the moment instead...  In my opinion, the town has had

 a real come back...  Many new shops, restaurants -  and it was BUSY!!!

  The cool sunny day made it so pleasant to wander up and down

 the picturesque hilly main street...

 Is This ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! or what!*!*!

Definitely had the vibe of a little Anthropologie!*!*!

*Somewhere Over-The-Rainbow* ~ ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! WEEKEND ROAD TRIP!*!*!

It just Amazes Me

"How much Frog Husband & I can Pack-It-All-In,

in such a small window of time"...

 We've ALWAYS been this way!*!*! 

 Our Whirlwind **40-Hour** Weekend started out EARLY Saturday Morning...

About an hour into the drive, we hit some very unexpected MAJOR THUNDERSTORMS!!!

We were rewarded by a "double rainbow" - how appropriate on St. Patrick's Day!*!*!  

Will our destination yield a Pot-Of-Gold????

Saturday Afternoon was spent ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! SHoPPing...

We were able to hit **4** of my FaVoRite Shops in and around the City...

AS FOR PICS ~ between the Thunder, Lightening, Gushing Water & Deep Puddles,

 I just wasn't in the mood...

AND... "Froggie" was Not Happy loading a

 Large Iron Architectural Piece - into the car, during all of this!*!*!

Sunday was a beautiful day - mostly sunny and warm...

EVERYTHING was in bloom, with trees still retaining their blooms -

 even with the intense rains from the day before...

 What a welcome sight!*!*!

Besides these blooms, daffodils, tulips, forsythia, & red bud blooms were out as well ~ JUST GoRgeOuS!!!

BOTTLE  SHOW

The main reason we made the trip- a yearly Bottle Show...  

 This was a FaB Display of ViNtaGe Seltzer Bottles

 from someone's personal collection...

Even though we were in St. Louis, Missouri, - I would imagine the person whose collection it was - must live in Ohio - with so many of the Seltzer being from there...

 On the way home - Sunday Afternoon,

 I spotted what looked like a FaB JUNKER Stop!*!*!

 Unfortunately, being later on a Sunday, 

- it was already closed...

  I just know I would have found some AwEsoMe SHaBBies!!!

We hit one more "Junker Stop"... 

This was just one of many "Whimsical Buildings" surrounding

 the main Antique Shop/Building...  

Time to "unpack" the car ...

 at EVERY STOP!*!*!
