OMG!*!*! ~  "Still Celebrating"...  Another BiRthDaY Lunch - this time with my Dearest Friend "on-the-planet" - Lin!*!*!  Firstly, I can't say enough about how special Lin's friendship is to me...  - She is a REAL Gem!!!  I am honored to say she is my friend...  Many a time we flap our chops over the good food and quiet atmosphere at California Pizza Kitchen... ~ We just love going there - we can actually sit there for hours and not feel the need to be pushed out the door if you know what I mean...

Lin had a delightful birthday goodie bag for me...  - She knows I'm "BiRd CrAzY" this year!!!  LoVE these fun spring-time napkins...

ViNtaGe!!!   OMG ~ wait till you hear the scoop on this!!!  But - Firstly, what a thoughtful vintage gift - with the bird of course!!!  I can just see it tucked in a vignette - perhaps in a shadow box or little stand of sort...

INSIDE - SURPRISE SCOOP!!!   OMG!*!*!  As I was flipping through the pages of this little birdie book, I came across this "Secret Code of Sort"...  I showed it to my step daughter... - Let me tell you - Amy is one smart cookie!!! ~ Remember the movie with RALPHIE and the RED RYDER BB GUN - "A Christmas Story"??? - Well, This was THE CODE Ralphie was writing down while listening to the radio program - locked in the bathroom... The dates match up, on the back of this book having a calendar 1928 - 1935...  It was advertising OVALTINE...   How Fun!!!

ANABA TEA ROOM - Shorewood WI

The ANABA TEA ROOM, located in Shorewood, Wisconsin is an absolute delight!*!*!  My friend Jenny and I have February Birthdays - just a day apart... ~ Yesterday we decided to "CeLeBraTe" our special day!!!  Jenny made a GREAT SUGGESTION to visit the ANABA Tea Room...

The ANABA TEA ROOM is located inside a retail store - GARDEN ROOM...  

The GARDEN ROOM mixes in a few "vintage items" along with upscale practical garden accessories.  The Store has quite a look!

These "Leaf-Vines" are REAL!!!  The leaves are planted along an open railing that surrounds the "roof -like" area of the tea room...

This is the TEA ROOM seating area "under these vines"...

This lower level where the TEA ROOM is located has a warm welcoming atmosphere...  As you enter the seating area there are two large metal cages of sort with lighted pilar candles...  I REALLY liked the fact that even though there are a lot of people/tables - IT'S QUIET - You can actually hear the person across from you!

We made and EXCELLENT Tea Selection - "Mandarin Citrus"...

As we were leaving, our server snapped this picture of myself and Jenny - by the AmAziNg "Hot Water Tea Pots" ...  YES, we had "to-go" boxes...

During the warm weather months - THE GARDEN ROOM/ANABA has seating on their ROOF TOP!!!  We took a sneak peek - FaBuLouS!!!  I can just imagine this green house area in Spring!

Lastly we browsed through the GARDEN STORE...  I spotted this AmAziNg Vintage Iron Wall Sconce of sort...  It had a hefty price tag - of course!!!

Amy & Desi sent me this GoRgeOuS "Fresh Flower Arrangement"!*!*!   Soooo beautiful against the outside "snowy" winter background here in Wisconsin... 

 

I wanted to stay home last night and "grill-out" - STEAKS!!!  ~ A real treat...  Jeff bundled up in his winter gear and braved the elements... YES - we're still up to our "you know what" in snow here...  HOWEVER - 23 days till day light savings time happens - YES!!!

Thank YOU all my friends and famiy for your thoughtful e-cards, and those that got mailed...  It really made my day...  Does that "Bird have a Crown on It"?!?!?! - OMG...

OMG!*!*! ~ It's my BiRthDay!!!  Can't wait to see what the day brings...  How Old???? ~ Old enough to lie about my age!*!*!  

On our family birthdays my Mom would always make a "Chocolate-Cherry" Cake...  I still have the recipe & do bake it on those special occasions...  It is "The BeSt"!!!

Although my Mom has been gone for a very long time ~ I like to set out one of the many birthday cards she sent me over the years ~ and remember when...  There is something so special about the Mother/Daughter connection...

It sure seems to take a lot more effort to do a show in the winter... ~ lack of sun & wearing bulky coats/sweaters most certainly doesn't help...  Soooooo - yes, I'm still recovering!!!  However, I did put a few **Shabbies** out in the hall area of Cedar Creek Antiques - located in the Cedar Creek Settlement - here in Cedarburg, WI...  

This Shabby White TABLE has The BeSt!*!*! natural time-worn patina...

The table has such great form ~ Perfectly chippy in ALL the right places...  The lovely Wall Mirror has been shabby-painted...  ~ This would look fabulous in an entry way with a chandelier hanging above!!!

"Spring was in the air" in my ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! Booth... 

 Although I'm not much of a crafter ~ I've been inspired by those of you who are...  I whipped up a few of these BiRdie - "Spring's Sweetest Song Tags" - to use as adornments...  They went fast... 

Patti & Diana were the "First-Ones-In-The-Door"!!!  These darling Gals drove up all the way from Chicago!!! ~ Way to go ladies...  As you can see, they BOTH know how to shop!*!*!

This "Sweet Little BiRdiE" was my Spring Inspiration for the show!*!*!  I put a "bing-bling" crown on him...

I put quite a few "Fresh" flowers in the booth...

Jenny & Lisa are the BeSt ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! Customers!!!    Once again they walked away "happy" with their arms full!*!*!  

Everyone LoVeD this little birdie shadow box ~ with funky "bling-bling" on his crown...

 This was a FaBuLouS Old Chippy Frame ~ SOLD right away...

Maureen was another customer that drove up from Chicago...  Although she did not get there right at 9 a.m. when we first opened - she still snagged the "Shabby Frame" that was shown on my preview pics...   Maureen left with her arms full too!*!*!

This architectural tin was just AwEsoMe... Unusual wood/gesso center motif... My friend Elizabeth thought it would be perfect for her collage above the couch...

This darling BiRde Rack/Holder Sold right away...  Wouldn't it look just perfect in a bathroom with towels rolled up in it!?!?!

Valentine Cookies!*!*!  ~  PeRfeCtly Delicious...

I baked these yummy cookies (recipe from the"Silver Palate Cookbook" -one of my favorites cookbooks)...   I brought them to Yesteday's Flea Market/Antique Show... ~ COOKIES were "Free with purchase"!!!  I displayed them as-is in this "VINTAGE TIN" BAKING PAN WITH REMOVABLE HEART CENTER"...  Quite a few people wanted to buy the tin!!! 

 

My Husband surprised me with this Vintage Candy Box for Valentine's Day...  It is just AwEsoMe!!!  I LoVe the Cherry Motif...  

The lid is still in very good condition ~ sort of padded... The inside still retains it's original embossed scalloped-edge paper...

Jeff carefully lined the inside of the box with foil &  filled it with my Favorite Candy from 2 of our local candy shops ~ Amy's Candy Kitchen (http://www.amyscandykitchen.com/) & Beerntsen's Confectionary (http://beerntsens.com/)...  What a thoughtful husband I have!!! XOXOX
