**ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! ViNtaGe Mirrors w/Patina...

One of my weaknesses is ViNtaGe Mirrors!!!  I especially LoVe the Old Ones ~ that have acquired a unique silver loss patina...  It's a plus if the frame is chippy old white paint & a bit ornate...

 Just in past few months I've been drawn to "frame-less" Old Mirrors...  Frame-less Mirrors work standing up... hung... or lying flat to adorn this & that...  I have to say ~ the little Bird/Mirror is my #1 most cherished FiNd!*!*!

A lot of frame-less old mirrors have wonderful "etching" on them...  I recently picked up the mirror on the lower right at Viva la Cottage in Door County,...  LoVe it's silver-loss patina!*!*!

 

 This mirror had fabulous silver loss patina - SOLD some years back...

 Although the mirror on the left, no longer has "reflective" viewing - it's patina is just awesome!!!  The chippy white frame couldn't get any better either...

 I just LoVe Tri-Mirrors!!!  They work so well above a couch, above a sideboard, resting on the back edge of cabinet, mixed in a grouping etc.  Almost always they have "etching"...  I love when I find them with a beautiful ornate crest on top!!!  This one is long gone...

 I also Love Old Mirrors with "chippy gesso/plaster"...  This one has some beautiful flowers...

Mirror Mirror On the Wall ~ who's the fairest of them All??? - I'd have to say ~ it's this one in our home...  I looked for it for years!!!  A Kane County Flea Market Find...

**Door County** Best-Ever Chocolate Cherry MuFFins!*!*!

In the mid 1980's, I opened up a Muffin/Espresso Shop in Boulder City, Nevada - Jeanine's Sweet Treats, Fine Baked Goods, "Hot From The Oven"...   EVERYTHING was baked "From Scratch" - by me...   I lived close enough where I could walk to work - arriving around 4 a.m. each morning...  The Shop being small, I had 5 employees... Most of our business was take-out, although we had tables inside & on the  patio...   I remember my slogan:  "Sit & Eat -OR- Go with your Treat"!!!  I loved what I did, it was a dream come true - but was a slave to my business...  After 8 years of what I nick-named "Muffin Prison" - I Sold the Shop and moved to Wisconsin...  

 These yummy Chocoalte Cherry Muffins are a recent "tweaked" recipe of mine...  YES, I still do bake!!!  

 A couple days ago Frog Husband and I enjoyed Door County - just for the day...  We came home with Schartner's Cherries ~ soooo I just had to bake!*!*!

 Many years back, my friend, Claudia, passed along a ViNtaGe Muffin Tin my way, that had been in her husband's family...  

"1943" Hercules...  I love it because it's extra deep!!! - and think of her fondly each time I bake!!!

 Even though Sweet Treats is long gone, to this day, when I visit Boulder City, Nevada, people STILL recognize me & reminisce about the Bake Shop...  Just a few weeks ago - a customer from years ago, asked for my Apricot Oatmeal Fruit Bar Recipe - to share with her own children now...   Since I Sold the Shop, I've been promising to "write a cook book"...  "Blurb" would make it so easy to do...  Will it happen???  - Hard to Say, nothing in the works just yet...  

375 degree oven

       Spray muffin pan & papers with grease release "Pam"...

  Bake Approximately 25 minutes...

                                           *************

1-1/2 Cups Unbleached Flour

2 Teaspoons Baking Powder       •Sift together, Set 

                                                              aside...

--------------

1/2 Cup Sugar

1/2 Cup Melted Butter                  •Beat together

--------------

2 Eggs                                    •Add to mixture-beat

1-1/2 Teaspoons almond 

           extract

--------------

ADD reserved Flour/Baking Powder Mixture, along with 1/2 Cup Milk, to the sugar/butter/egg mixture - HAND STIR TOGETHER...

FOLD-IN whatever amount of Sweetened Cherries & Mini Chocolate Chips you like!!!

FILL MUFFIN CUPS... Top with white sugar - then powdered sugar...

BAKE...  Remove from tin immediately to a cooling rack...

                                           ENJOY!*!*!

 While we were up in Door County on Tuesday, we hit a fun outdoor Antique/Vintage Tailgate!!!  We didn't fill the car up ~ but we both got some fun things...

Even with everything going on lately, I was able to "squeeze-in" a bit of Flea Market Shopping over the past two Sundays...

 I'm just loving this cubby-drawer cabinet

 with "old white paint"... & FaB Patina on the hardware too...

The ornate picture frames have already Sold...

ShoPPing ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! ViNtaGe Finds "Under-The-Tent"...

This past Saturday MoRniNg, I started hauling my SHaBBieS out to the road around 4:15 a.m.  It was pretty Scary - lightening... thunder... light rain...   Doing this SOLO - seemed to be taking me FoReVer!!! ~ Rescue came at 6:30 when my neighbor, Sandy came over to help with the "final crunch"...  Aside from the high humidity, the weather pretty much stayed DRY for the rest of the day, here in Cedarburg, Wisconsin...

I had NO TIME for pictures Before I opened...  Luckily Sandy snapped this quick pick "just seconds" before I cut the string - at 7 a.m.

These Ladies were sooooo much fun!!!  My darling "French Inspired" vintage chair & industrial basket went home with them...

After the initial rush ~ I was able to re-arrange the torn up vignettes & finally take some pics...  Almost all the recent vintage finds I've picked up - SOLD...  I wish I had pics of them...

This SHaBBy-Painted ViNtaGe Desk & Chair

 was the first to SELL...  It had such wonderful details...

Of course this Retro Bread Box Sold - GREAT ChiPPY Graphics...

I'm taking the month of August - Off from Shows...  

I'll be spending my time catching up with things around the house, & getting my ShaBBies Ready for the Fall Season...

ChiPPy... White... Wednesday... SHABBY WHITE SHELF!*!*!

Once again I'm "hooking up with Kathleen @ FADED CHARM, to join in on "ALL" the InSpiRaTiOn of

 I finally got inspired ~ just this morning, - Like I have nothing to do with my RoadSide Sale just a few days away!!! I filled in a "vacant spot" I've had for months... Take a peek at my PeRfeCtLy ChiPPy Shelf - Then hop on over to Faded Charm's Blog to view all the other entries...

 I bought this perfectly chippy shelf a few years back ~ AND JUST LOVED IT!!!   I was frustrated that I never found "the perfect spot" to display it to it's full potential... ~  Numerous times it held a price tag, and I used it for a prop during my ChiPPy! SHaBBy! SaLes...

 How could anyone who Loves a natural time-worn patina pass up this shabby!?!?! 

I'm sooooo glad they did!!!

 I added a "hint of vintage millinery & lacy-edged hankerchief" to adorn the vintage bottles...

 I love vintage bottles with "time-worn" labels...  My Frog Husband cringes when vintage bottles get a "shabby look" with the addition of lace & bling... - OMG!!! 

Just PeRfeCt in our "guest bathroom nook"...

ChiPPy... SHaBBy... Crusty... Rusty... TOLE CANDELABRA!*!*!

Some months ago I picked up a darling ViNtaGe Tole Chandelier that no longer was electrified...  Although it wasn't a "top quality" tole light fixture, I was drawn to it's lovely "ORANGE FLOWERS" & Crusty/Rusty PaTiNa...  It easily sets/rests on a surface all by itself, not needing to be hung...  Immediately I thought CANDELABRA TABLE CENTERPIECE!*!*! 

Resting on a table, the center just needed something...  I added an Ivy Plant - "just perfect"!!!

 I picked up these sweet little orange metal flowers early-on in the season...  PeRfecT "go-with" for this table centerpiece...

This past weekend, my friend Kathy, came up from Michigan...  Kathy's had her eye on a very special "ViNtage Tole Chandelier" ~ that I had at my June RoadSale...  This PeRfeCtLy Chippy Tole Chandelier - now has a new home!!!  

**BeSt** One-Of-A-Kind ViNtaGe Find!!!

Propped up in a wonderfully old shabby basket ~ the tole chandelier, as did Kathy - blended well with all the REAL flower adornments...

 Having a metal or paper Italy Tag ~ adds value to vintage tole pieces...  

AND...  It also had a much desired MADE-IN-ITALY "Metal Tag"!*!*!
