White Wednesday ViNtaGe Finds - Kentucky/Tennessee...

I'll have to say that the antiquing we did on the way to Memphis - "wasn't the best"...  Way tooooo many shops were what I call "BROWN-OUTS"!*!*!  AND way tooooo many shops with trolls & beanie babies etc.   HOWEVER ~ I did indeed come home with a limited amount of Naturally Chippy time-worn SHaBBy Finds...  Enjoy my SHaBBy Finds  ~ then hop on over to KATHLEEN'S BLOG - "FADED CHARM" to view ALL the other W*H*I*T*E   W*E*D*N*E*S*D*A*Y entries as well...

 These 4 were my FaVoRiTEs!*!*!

This is what I netted at the MEMPHIS Bottle Show...

The clear bottle up front has an OWL Embossed...

The Emerald Green Bottle has a CROWN Embossed!!!

The Amber Bottle has FOUR ROSES Embossed!!!

 My Frog Husband LoVeS "Demijohn" Bottles...  Many of them were at one time incased in wicker...

  Such was the case above...

I love it...  He wants to sell it...  

I'm pretty sure this may turn up at my NEXT ROADSIDE SALE on July 23rd!!!

As we headed to Memphis, we really packed it in on Day II...

 

 After many disappointing Antique Store Stops, "we finally hit on a FaBuLouS one"!*!*!

the Red Door Antiques, in Eddyville, Kentucky...

The outside was soooo inviting!!!  I had to have this architectural column that turned out to be filled with "old wasp's nests"!!!  The shop owner was nice enough to help us "clear the column of this mess"...

 This vignette was sooooo inviting when you walked in the door...

 There wasn't much around for restaurants in the area ~ and we were hungry...  This "no frills restaurant" served THE BEST BBQ I've ever had!*!*!  

 This area of the country is known for BBQ...

 Knoth's "Smoke House" was located out back of the restaurant...  It yielded the most tender & tasty pork sandwich I've ever had!!! ~ Not to mention, the most unusual and tasty BBQ Sauce - 10+++ YUM!*!*!

 Getting closer to Memphis, this was our last Antique Stop... 

 Antiquing wasn't the best on this trip ~ and This was the only other shop that I netted a few select ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! Finds...

We finally made it to Memphis - where the Bottle Show was being held...

We had BBQ Ribs at this corner  "Blues City Cafe"...

 The inside of the Blues City Cafe was "just hopping"...

  Fun & Funky!*!*!

 We did so much walking in Memphis...

 When your feet got tired - carriages were available... This particular one was loaded with "Bling"...

 I just loved ALL THE OUTDOOR CAFES!!!  We ate here one evening...

We set-up & sold at the Bottle Show... ~ Made a 12 hour drive back to Wisconsin - STRAIGHT THROUGH...

Yesterday, Frog Husband "uncovered" the old wicker casing on this demijohn bottle...  YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU MIGHT FIND...

This past Wednesday Morning - we hit the road before the birds got up ~ headed to a Bottle Show in Memphis, Tennessee...   We took a couple extra days to do some sight seeing & of course ~ SHaBBy-SHoPPing!*!*!

 This amazing old "plantation-style" building was connected to a rest stop...

Many a building with old brick and quaint courtyards...

 PeRfeCTLy ChiPPy time-worn architectural wonders...  This was in the quaint downtown of Paducah, Kentucky, where the flood gates had been put up a couple weeks ago...

 Wonderful Architectural Interest...

 There were quite a few "fun bikes" like this in town...

 Sunday MoRniNg I took a drive to the Wales Antique Center's twice a year OUTDOOR MARKET, here in Wisconsin...   It's a very small venue, and a lot of dealers don't REALLY KNOW how valuable "ChiPPy" Is!!!  That was the case when I netted these "3" AmaZiNg Folding Spring Chairs!*!*!

 YES, these chippy beauties fold easily and were complete ~ no broken off parts!!!

 Just FaB PaTiNa!*!*!

The CENTER actually springs downward when you sit down...

ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! **Door County, Wisconsin Get-Away**

Last Week...  ~ In between Selling at the Northwind Garden Show ~AND~ my RoadSide Sale, Frog Husband whisked ChiPPy-SHaBBy off to our FaVoRiTe Getaway Spot - DOOR COUNTY, WISCONSIN!*!*!  

 Door County is about 2-1/2 hours North of Cedarburg, ...  It's located on a picturesque peninsula ~ known for it's cherry orchards & water activities...  We started off with some nice strong coffee in our "vacation mugs"...  The sailboat mug was a purchase from "Clay Bay Pottery" - in Ellison Bay - on the peninsula...

 It's a beautiful drive for us up to The Door...  I love when the road  skirts Lake Michigan...  One of our FaVoRiTe Stops is DODGE ANTIQUES in Downtown, Algoma...  Tom the owner is quite the character!!!  GREAT STOP!!!  

 Fred & Co. is one of my FaVoRite ShoPPing Places...  Terry Goettelman, the owner is just darling!*!*!   We always stop there after having Breakfast at the White Gull Inn (best cherry pancakes on the peninsula!!!)

 Sometimes Terry brings her Himalayan Cat - "Everest" to the shop!!!  This was a "Rare Moment" when she let Everest downstairs in the store...  Sweetest Cat Ever!*!*!

 We had a gift certificate to the Blacksmith Inn...

 Everything is done 1st class at the Blacksmith Inn...  The gardens/grounds/rooms are soooo well taken care of... ~ Just beautiful...

BesT Weather ~ enjoying breakfast out on the deck overlooking a view of the water...  This side of the Peninsula is much quieter...  

 There's never a time when we don't make at least "2" stops at Viva la Cottage when we're up in Door County!!!  Angie's store is like a "little Anthropologie" ...

 Viva's Gardens are just GoRgeOuS!!!  These "Royal Wedding Poppies" were in bloom when we were there...

Yesterday was my 3rd "ChiPPy!-SHaBBy RoadSide Sale" of the 2011 Season...  Due to WEATHER, I have yet to set up my tent on the RoadSide THIS SEASON!!! I I sooooo enjoy that location ~ It changes the whole vibe of the SaLe - being outdoors AND BY THE ROAD!!!

Despite the thunderstorm warnings, Saturday's weather ended up being Just FaBuLouS!!!     I was off to a very SLOW START ~ but only for the first few hours...  I ended up having an Extremely GREAT SALE,  selling lots of furniture and some of my BeSt Naturally Time-Worn SHaBBies!!!  I even SOLD our Kitchen Chairs - we're in trouble now!!!

Summer Sale HOURS

NOW OPENING @ 7 a.m.

 As you rounded the corner to our backyard, you were greeted by this tented space filled with SHaBBies!!!  On such short notice, there was NO WAY that I was going to be able to have enough room "IN-THE-GARAGE", for displaying EVERYTHING  ~ Sooooo, I opted for this additional outdoor tented area...

Here's Jackie & Barb...  Jackie netted this pretty vintage oil painting...  Barb bought one of my BeST Naturally Chippy Framed Shadow Boxes...  OMG ~ Looks like it may now be framing the oil painting!*!*!  I just LoVe when my Illinois Customers come Shop-My-SHaBBies and then make a day of it ~  Lunch in Cedarburg and Shopping the Stores in our quaint historic town!!!  

Nancy, on the right, lives in Texas!!!  She tagged along with Jackie & Barb - to Shop-My-SHaBBies!*!*!

This FaBuLouS Teal/Green  METAL PLANTER was For SaLe last week in my booth at the Northwind Garden Show...  I had lots of lookers, but it didn't sell...   Because I LoVed it so, I pulled the tag when I got home...   ~ Thinking FALL, I thought it would look just fab adorned with small pumpkins & bittersweet in my front entry...  I lost my mind just minutes BEFORE the SaLe, & Re-Tagged it... Needless to Say ~ OF COURSE IT SOLD...
