I'm getting Sooooo Excited about this Upcoming Weekend's Antique Show in St. Charles, Illinois!*!*!  Yesterday I made some "firm decisions" as to what items I will be bringing to the Show...
This darling little VINTAGE BIRDIE CONTAINER WAS Among Them...  That's right - WAS!!! ~ Soooooo Sorry!!!  (4) - On & Off price tags later...  I came to my senses - brought it back upstairs... AND "for now" ~ it's staying put among my vintage garden collectibles!*!*!  At least this is ONE item I wont' have to say:  "What Was I Thinking"!!!

 The Patina on the old bird decal is FaB!!!

 I have "a love for vintage bird items" and I can't believe I even considered parting with it!!!

 The backside of the painted tin container also has bird ~ less patina...

 The top embossed inscriptions reveal that perhaps it contained "CANDY" -OR- "SEEDS" at one time???

 Sweet...

 A PeRfeCt "go-with" among my other vintage garden collectibles...

**ChiPPy!-SHaBBy!** ViNtaGe WINTER-IN-THE-GARDEN...

I'VE GOT "CABIN FEVER"!!!  OR Should I say - I did till this MoRning ~  THE SUN FINALLY CAME OUT!!!   I grabbed my "snow boots" and headed out in "foot-deep" snow to snap this "fun pic" of our time-worn vintage motel chairs adorned with Snow and Icicles!*!*!

 I've had this ViNtaGe Motel Chair along with 2 others for the longest time...  Each season the patina gets better and better ~ revealing MORE layers of time-worn chippy paint patina!*!*!

The chairs surround our well-covered "Fire Pit"...

  You can catch a glimpse of a rusty... crusty... ViNtaGe Bicycle in the background!!!  The bicycle looks fab in the summer months with it's "back fender area" filled with a crate of FLoWerS!*!*! 

 I netted these sparkling pretties at the last Grayslake Flea Market...  I love adding a "special touch" to this and that with sweet adornments...  Fussies like this even look FaB just mounded in a special little trinket dish!!!

Once again I'm joining the PaRty @ Kathleen's FADED CHARM!!! - WHITE WEDNESDAY!*!*!  Everyone has their particular taste in SHaBBies...  My "First Love" is a "Natural, Time-Worn" Chippy Paint Patina - that only time can produce...  Enjoy the random "ChiPPy-White SHaBBies"...  I get sooooo much inspiration from ALL the entries... 

 Lot's of PeRfeCtLy ChiPPy Shabbies in this picture...  The wicker basket with barbola trim is long gone & so is the mirror...

 Time-Worn ChiPPy Fence Fragment in our Summer Garden...  A closer peek reveals the best time-worn paint crazing!!!

Cherub supporting an urn...  I love Cherubs in my jewelry nook and bathroom...  Soooo many display possibilities with soaps... jewelry adornments...

 PeRfeCtLy Crusty... Rusty... Old White Metal Box...  Even if it's not "functional" ~ the shape/form makes for a great shelf display piece...

 Great little Cabinet with drawer...  Just FaB time-worn patina!!!  Perfect "Prop-Piece" for resting on a larger sized cabinet...

 Chippy ViNtaGe Garden Set...  Hints of Old Green Paint Poking through...

In Monday's, January 24th Remodelista's Daily Feed...  One of the FaB Ideas is the ROOM PICTURED BELOW...  LoVe the White-Out with the lath and plaster texture among other details!!!   Great inspiration to take off with...

"Wellnest" in Sag Harbor New York...

**ChiPPy!-SHaBBy!** Porcelain FLOWERS!*!*! ~ ViNtaGe...

MORE SHaBBies to put on Your-Find-List!!!  Whenever I see Old Porcelain Flowers ~ I always pick them up...  I love the look of bunching them up in a grouping to adorn this and that...

Just the right touch adorning this Wall Pocket Urn...  The chippier the edges ~ the better!!!

The wire stems are usually plastic coated...  Some have manufacturer's tags...  I would think these to be from the 50's-60's era... I love stuffing these beauties in small "Shadow-Box Cabinets" with glass shelves - Impact!!!

These particular delicate RoSeS are actually "bisque"...

**ChiPPy!-SHaBBy!** VINTAGE FiNdS FROM-THE-PAST!*!*!

My girlfriend Terry's Mom used to say "January seems to last forever"...  ~ It's most certainly feeling like - JUST THAT TODAY!!!  Near zero temperatures & being what I call "CAGED-UP" are just not my thing... Soooooo in order to get a little "Perk-Me-Up-Fix" ~ I've been viewing quite a few "Old-SHaBBy-Finds" from the PAST...  Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did...  SPRING WILL COME...  Only people in "Snow Country" understand and long for this...

ALL these Finds are Long-Gone, but I remember each and every one of them!!!

Loading up for Northwind Garden Show years ago...  ALL that "PeRfeCtLy ChiPPy" Furniture...

Each year I SELL COSMOS PLANTS in my booth at the Cedarburg Maxwell Street Flea Market in late May...

 A pile of "SHaBBies" ~ Some ended up being keepers that I Still Have...

 

I almost always try and have some Architectural SaLVaGe in my booth space...   It's much harder to find it during the winter months ~ but a treat when I do!!!

**Pretty Wrappings** ~ Jeanne d'Arc Living ARRIVES!!!

I order my copy of  The Jeanne d' Arc Living through Urban Farmhouse...  The First of the "2011" Edition arrived yesterday!!!  Lisa makes this already "extra-special" magazine - even more special, by wrapping it in oh-so-pretty tissue paper ~ with string and little key adornment...  See for yourself!!!  "Lucky-Me" ~ I visit URBAN FARMHOUSE, in Thornville, Ohio,  once a year - in the Spring...   AwEsOme Displays...

 This pretty wrapping makes opening Jeanne d' Arc Living even more special!!!

Upon closer inspection, I noticed the sweet birdie!!! Anything special - is always in the details...

I've only had time to "do-a-flip" so far...  

Looking forward to REALLY getting inspired ~ as always...

The magazine is more like a book and yes, it is EXPENSIVE ~ but I'm now hooked... I've never come across anything quite  like it before..  Detailed Inspiration...

I just LoVe well-ironed linens!!!

   Even if a linen has a hole or stain - it can easily be camouflaged by covering it up with an object, folding it  under, or turning it toward the back...  Ironing and a bit of starch MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE...

I also have a weakness for Vintage Tole Chandeliers!!! They don't necessarily need to be hung or even lit for that matter...

Here in Wisconsin, the view from my window looks like a "SNOW GLOBE"!!! Forecast - 4 inches...  I long for a glimpse of SpRiNg ~ which is WAY TOOOOOO MANY MONTHS AWAY...  In the meantime, I can reflect on things "that make me think of Spring" ~ B I R D I E S!*!*!

The SHaBBy ViNtaGe BIRD MIRROR is perched in an old chippy basket with barbola flowers....  Just FaB time-worn silver loss patina!!!

**ChiPPy!-SHaBBy!** Shops FARM GIRL ANTIQUES ~ Milwaukee, WI

It's been just about a month since I've visited & shopped the newest Antique Store in Milwaukee - FARM GIRL ART & ANTIQUES...  Yesterday was "Girlfriend Lunch" & Antiquing in downtown Milwaukee...  FARM GIRL was our "First Stop"...  I was pleasantly surprised to see lots of FRESH STOCK and regretted not getting some items that I had previously seen - GONE!!!  One of the things I like about the Store is that you can actually "walk inside Lisa's huge window displays to shop"!!!  Lisa's GREAT PRICES and authentic vintage items will keep me coming back!!!

 Did I make a Haul or What!*!*!

Having such a Fab Show at Grayslake last weekend, I'm ON-THE-HUNT for "More SHaBBies" - with two back-to-back shows coming up at the beginning of February...

THINK SPRING!*!*!  My left-over flowering bulbs from last weekend's show are now adding a "hint-of-spring" to my IN-PROGRESS - Early January Entry Vignette...

While "digging-deep" for show stock last week, I uncovered a favorite wire fencing I hadn't seen in some time...  I love when this happens!*!*!

The "collage-box" was also somthing I hadn't seen in a long... long... time!!!  Catch a glimpse of a favorite "crusty/rusty" Industrial Stool to the right ~ BeSt!!!
