ViNtaGe FLORAL FLOWER FROGS!*!*!

My friend Jenny sent me the current "early spring"issue of COUNTRY GARDENS...  It's FaBuLouS!!!  She knew I would love it because of ALL the Floral Flower Frogs & other vintage garden related items!*!*!   Here are some pics from my personal collection...

I have a good number of my "smaller-sized" flower frogs in a little greenhouse of sort ~ made from old windows with glass...  Most of my views are from the side ~ too much glare through the glass panes...

I lined the bottom of the "greenhouse" with old cream city bricks & added a bit of green moss for contrast.  I also tossed in a few of my miniature vintage watering cans...  Oddly enough, those tiny little vintage watering cans sell for a good dollar ~ probably because they were either "toys" -or- salesmen's samples...

***Most Loved Flower Frog***  Quite unusual!*!*!

Some of the flower frogs still came with their original boxes...

Most of the flower frogs were secured to the bottom of a vase with "Floral Clay"...  I was lucky enough find this old box...  Love the graphics...  Floral Clay also works great for securing candles...

This is my FaVoRiTe Box!*!*!  Floral stem wrapping tape... A nice "go-with" item...

Saturday Morning "Junker Outing" RUMMAGE-A-RAMA...

For years we've wondered what could be found at RUMMAGE-A-RAMA here in Milwaukee...  Will there be more tube socks, spices, string cheese, etc. than antiques????  The place was mobbed - not much more to do on a cold winter day here in Wisconsin... I did find a few shabbies - but honestly - it was my first and last visit...

Welcome Junkers!!! ~ A bit expensive ~ $5. for parking plus $4. each to get in...

Old Children's Blocks.... I just had to play!*!*!

This lady had "The BeSt" Vintage Booth...  I did buy quite a few things from her... I'll be bringing them to the FEBRUARY 13th Show in Germantown...  Maybe you'll get a "sneak peek" as it gets closer...

This was a FaBuLouS ChiPPy!-SHaBBy! Vase...

An old set of "JACKS"!*!*!  Complete with original packaging...

After lunch we made a quick pit-stop at the Mall...  I saw these Wonderfully Old Vintage Suitcases...  Of course they were NFS - store display only...

***ViNtaGe VALENTINE Postcards & Adornments***

As I was out & about yesterday, I saw many a store display with **Refreshing Valentine Themes** ~ at the bakery.... antique store... drug store card isle...   & candy store...  Did I have my camera ~ NO....  Soooooo ~ here's a sneak peek of items in my home & antique store displays from this past weekend...

I love this Chippy, Old, Crusty, Rusty, Mailbox!*!*!  What a perfect use for a Valentine Vignette...  Can you believe I  had this beauty For Sale several times & it got passed up!!!   You see these Shabby Mailboxes  ALL along the country roads - but none are available when you want one...   Besides using this Old Beauty for Valentines ~ I think it would look just FaBuLouS on a post in a garden with trailing rose vines...  The ViNtaGe Post Card - seen in the photo should be up on my Ebay Site Soon - I'm sooooo running behind this year on my selling... Lots of effort ~ such little free time!!!

I have a wonderful collection of Vintage Valentine Postcards...  Cherubs seem to be a very popular theme...

A hint of ViNtaGe Millinery...  Cherub, postcards, & bling...

I saw these darling vintage valentine adornments in an antique mall...

This is a darling "Lefton" Cherub Candy/Trinket Heart Dish... The Lefton company made a lot of "seasonal" adorments...  Most of their items still retain a sticker on the bottom with their name and made in "Japan" ...

OMG!*!*!  What was I thinking?????????????????????  I saw this quite unusual vintage valentine planter on our antique travels this past weekend...  The price was a bit high ~ but after all it was perfectly chippy!!!  Major regrets ~ did not buy it...

Pretty ViNtaGe Perfume Bottle ~ Chippy Labels...

Besides my collection of of fussy bling~bling I-Rice Perfume Bottles in my Jewelry Nook, I also LoVe small perfumes with colorful time-worn labels...  The color, script/type face, & decorative stoppers all add to their appeal!*!*!   Tucking them in wall cabinet/shadow box display ~ with a hint of vintage millinery & Bling, adds the sweetest touch...

These are a few of my favorites...  Note the bottle top stoppers...

The bottle on the right has the "most adorable" Crown Stopper"!*!*!  I was lucky enough to find this ViNtaGe Trade Card for "German Cologne"...  Look at that sweet frog...  ~ A PeRfeCt "go-with" for my small collection...

AwEsoMe Shabbies!!! ANTIQUE SATURDAY ~ Best BiRd Find!*!*!

Yesterday was one of the most dreary Wisconsin Winter Days...  WE headed out anyways -  to do some Saturday Antiquing...  I was on the hunt for some "Special Shabbies" for the FEBRUARY 13th Flea Market in Germantown... ~  I did indeed come home with FaBuLouS Finds!*!*!  I'll be posting Preview pics of these finds as the FLEA MARKET date gets closer...  I did come home with a keeper for myself ~   one of "The BeSt VinTage BiRd Vases"...

We made "6" major Antique Stops!*!*!

This 2-die-4 White Matte "Red Wing" BiRd VaSe is already in my hutch !*!*!  I've never seen one quite like it...  It goes sooooo well with my other white matte collectibles...

The Bird Vase is stamped RED WING on the bottom...  I got it at a good price because of the crack near the top ~ it most certainly doesn't bother me!   I love the dimensional bird figures...

Best Bling~Bling Eye-Candy Booth of the Day...

I loved this little cherub...   Cloches are being used in a lot displays lately...

One of my weaknesses - ViNtaGe Tole...  This chandelier had a PeRfeCt ChiPPy PaTiNa!*!*!

What a FaB Idea...  I believe the wood area is an Old tobacco drying rack... The Folk Art Style Birds added sooooo much!  I wanted to take it home - it had a hefty price tag AND  it wasn't  one of a kind - there was another one in the store...  I think I saw this pictured in a magazine this past summer...

Old Wallpaper Box!!!  I loved it!!!

In just the past couple days (Monday) - there are "Sneak -Peek" preview pics !!!   Jocie S. - Owner of RED CHAIR ANTIQUES, in Peterborough, New Hampshire is having her HOME FEATURED in this new magazine...   OMG!*!*! ~ I was just at RED CHAIR this past October - during our yearly Fall New England Trip... http://www.redchair-antiques.com/ I first disovered RED CHAIR bout 7 years ago...  I saw an article - I believe in Victoria Magazine, clipped it out... got out the map... & put it on our "Must See List" for one of our Fall Trips...  RED CHAIR is nestled in a very Quaint UpScale Shopping Area in this picturesque New England town...  Jocie's Shop originally was located on the river side of "Depot Square" but has now moved just across the parking lot to a much larger space...

Jocie's Store has such "Major Impact" when you walk in...  A beautiful soft palette of creamy whites and beiges...  It's packed FULL!!!   A great little place to browse for either smalls or larger "anchor items" for a room...

Red Chair Antiques ~ A European Feel...

Look at that AwEsoMe French Bottle Drying Rack!*!*!

I just LoVe this Unusual-Shaped ChiPPy Wall Cabinet ...The cabinet did not have a price on it...  I had one of those sinking feelings that it might be one of those NFS Items...  ~ The sales lady was nice enough to give Jocie a call...  It did indeed go home with me!*!*!

Being Fall - I  temporarily used it to display my Vintage Gurley Halloween Candles...  I hope to give it a more permanent spot in our home soon...

Jocie had  boxes full of old store receipts from France...  I picked up a few... PeRfeCt for small vignette adornments... -OR- the back of my special wall cabinet.

I purchased this HEAVY Architectural Fragment from RED CHAIR many years ago when RED CHAIR was located on the River Side of the Shopping area...  Back then I remember it being quite expensive & had second thoughts about buying it...  Today  it is in the Top Ten of my Most Favorite Finds!*!*! ~ Definitely a Keeper...  I was told it came from the outside of a building in Boston...  The time~worn PaTiNa is 2-die-4...

I've been hauling my "snacks" & whatnot - to work,  in this now tattered  RED CHAIR ANTIQUES shopping bag...

These banners were displayed in the "DEPOT SQUARE" Shopping area of Peterborough this Fall... http://www.depotsquarepeterborough.com/ Another darling store is BOWERBIRD & FRIENDS ~ just footsteps from RED CHAIR ANTIQUES...  I LoVed EVERYTHING IN BOWERBIRD!*!*!  ~  (check out my archived store pics from Oct. )

**Dime A Dance** ~ ViNtaGe Store, Cedarburg, WI

Dime A Dance!*!*!  Is One of the Most Wonderful Vintage Stores I have had the pleasure of shopping in...   It's located in Cedarburg, Wisconsin - in the Old Historic Cedar Creek Settlement Building on the second floor...   It is run by a "Mother & Daughter" team ~ Murial & Mary...  Mary actually owns it - and Murial says "I'm the Boss - when Mary's not around"...   Murial is quite a character!!!   The shop consistently carries some of the most wonderful ViNtaGe  chandliers...  candelabras... jewelry...  hats... linens... antiques... & clothing  - dating around 1920- 1950's...  EVERYTHING is sooooo well organized  and displayed - What an amazing inventory...  You step back in time as you enter...    Everything "SpARkLeS" ~ especially all the lit chandeliers!*!*!  There are all sorts of interesting victorian era adornments from perfume bottles, to little cherub this and that, mirrors, etc....  A "must see" if you're ever in the area...

DIME A DANCE has a "ViNtaGe Paris Apartment" Decor...

ChiPPy!-Crusty!-Rusty! ViNtaGe Watering Cans & Garden Ephemera

***For the LoVE of ViNtaGe Garden***  ~  I'm drawn to old, time-worn watering cans with patina...    In my creative loft space,  I surround myself with some of my most cherished smaller-sized items from this vintage collection... Most of my shabby pretties are reserved for the jewelry nook area in the master bedroom and entire guest bedroom...

ViNtaGe Garden Emphera!!!   Seed Packets...  Garden Catalogs... Seed Company Advertising... I have them displayed in an area of my loft that DOES NOT get direct sunlight...  The old color printing - probably lithos -  is sooooo beautiful ~ just precious!!!   I have drawers full of even more garden-related ephemera  - all tucked away - to be gone through on a rainy day... EPHEMERA is a type of adverstising/packaging that was meant to used for a short time - then thrown away...
These are some of my "Sweet Little Watering Cans  with Decals"...  All of these cans are pretty much the same style - yet unique in their own way...  I just love their original sweet little time~worn decals!*!*!

Such Great Character....  So much more interesting than brand new!*!*!

Notice the difference- "ornate curved handle edge" - compared to the White One - with it's "straight metal support" for the spout ...

Of these "6" darling watering cans, I would have to say my FaVoRiTe is the the Blue one with the RoSe...  I love it's acquired time-worn patina and the pretty RoSe Decal...    I believe them to be from the 1950's ~ used to water house plants...
